Cleaning Guide

Our standard product listings are supplied on a laser processing service only and does not include cleaning of the parts (or further processings such as bending, gluing, infill engraving or assembly, though we can quote for this).

From our experience we offer some advise for best cleaning practices.

PLASTICS

DO NOT

  • Use an abrasive cloth or scotchbrite style cleaner
  • Use an alcohol based cleaner (this can cause micro fractures/cracks on the edge of the plastics [this can take a little while before fracture show!])

RECOMMENDED

  • Soak in warm soapy water (great for removing white residue on acrylic).
  • Microfibre cloth.
  • Specialist cleaner - Autoglym plastics polish.
  • Recommenced aerosol cleaners - Würth - Industry Cleaner (our favourite) or VuPlex - Plastic Cleaner.
  • Some other popular recommendations, include Brasso cleaner, and toothpaste.

TIMBER

RECOMMENDED

  • Sanding to remove scroch marks (120 grit).
  • Masking can also be used to significantly reduce scorch marks (though can be fiddly to remove on designs with detailed raster engraving).
